The Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra seeks a COMMERCIAL AGENT to source funding from companies, on a voluntary basis.
Who we are
The Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) is a large orchestra based in Brussels, at the Saint-Michel Theatre (near Montgomery). The orchestra has around one hundred young musicians who have recently graduated from the Conservatoire.
The mission of the BPO is to prepare these musicians for a future career in a professional orchestra, by enabling them to develop their own style in a disciplined and structured manner, through a very varied repertoire. The result is a series of high quality concerts, in a jovial and relaxed atmosphere. As a not-for-profit organisation, the BPO is currently seeking funding from companies in order to ensure its continued development.
Your role:
- You will implement a funds sourcing strategy for companies (sponsorship and patronage)
- You will contribute to the development of the activities of our orchestra (sales of concerts).
- You will establish a prospective list of companies drawing on your own contacts, the database, social networking sites, etc.
- You will make contact by telephone and set up meetings and appointments
- You will develop new initiatives and communication strategies in order to present our orchestra in the most professional way possible.
- You will make good contacts within companies and forge lasting partnerships.
- You will closely follow current projects and re-ignite previous contacts.
- Once a partnership has been created, you will draw up a professional contract and seek to monitor and maintain partnerships to ensure they are long-lasting.
Your profile:
- You are ready to dedicate your own time to working in the cultural sector
- Educated to a higher or university level, you are seeking a challenging commercial role
- Comfortable with social contact, you are a natural communicator and a people person
- Your excellent communication skills enable you to also listen and to convince your audience of the value of the orchestra
- Diplomatic and enthusiastic, you show determination and perseverance in the achievement of your objectives
- You are able to work autonomously whilst also possessing a strong team spirit
- You have excellent writing skills, are well-organised and methodical, you will provide regular updates on your projects
- You have up-to-date knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel).
- You are competent in French, Dutch and English.
- Musical knowledge would be considered an asset
